The University of Virginia seeks an Assistant Director of Development, Leadership Annual Giving to join the six-person School of Nursing Alumni & Development team. The Assistant Director of Development, Leadership Annual Giving will contribute to the School of Nursing by identifying, recruiting, cultivating and soliciting individuals to provide financial support, with primary focus on unrestricted annual gifts. The Assistant Director will coordinate the leadership annual giving, direct mail and Phonathon programs, as well as maintain appropriate accounting and stewardship protocols for annual fund gifts. Additionally, and just as importantly, he/she will schedule face-to-face visits with alumni, parents and friends, traveling on a regular basis to qualify and cultivate new potential partners.
At least two years’ experience and proven record of successful fundraising experience or equivalent customer-focused experience is required. The ideal candidate must have the ability to think strategically, communicate effectively, monitor budgets and achieve fundraising goals. He/she will have strong written and verbal communication skills, a high level of professionalism, and previous experience in fundraising or a related field. Travel will be required as well as some evening and weekend work.
