Room to Breathe - Giving to UVA
 

Most of the nearly 200-year-old Tuscan columns that line the Lawn are in desperate need of repair—and a chance to breathe again. Over the years the columns’ brick cores have been covered by a lime and sand mixture, plaster, and layer after layer of paint—inadvertently trapping moisture and causing decay.
