The percentage of undergraduates receiving financial aid has grown from 24% in 2004–05 to 34% in 2013–14.
U.Va. is one of a very small group of public universities in the country that offers need-blind admissions paired with a financial aid program to meet 100 percent of students’ demonstrated financial need. The program has been successful, but the cost has risen dramatically, from about $10 million in 2004 to more than $40 million in 2014.
With your help, we will build a sustainable model for financial aid so that U.Va. will continue to attract the most talented students, regardless of their economic circumstances. Chosen for their present abilities and future promise, these students will receive a world-class education and, in turn, will have what it takes to make a difference in the world.
