When you contribute $2 million or more to create an endowed professorship for a mid-career scholar, the University will amplify your gift with a 50-cent match on every dollar.
When you contribute $3 million or more to create an endowed professorship for a distinguished scholar and pay the total within five years, the University will provide $2 million in matching funds.

Isidore Horween Research Associate Professor of Business Administration
An expert in business strategy, ethics, leadership, and entrepreneurship, Fairchild specializes in underserved, overlooked markets. MBA-focused news publication Poets & Quants recently named Fairchild its MBA Professor of the Year. His research, which centers on financial risks and the impact of community development financial institutions, is supported by the Isidore Horween Research Professorship, created by Ralph Horween and Frederick Stow (Darden ’58).
Lisa Russ Spaar
Horace W. Goldsmith NEH Distinguished Teaching Professor
An endowed professorship funded by the Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities supports Spaar’s teaching and creative endeavors. A distinguished poet and beloved English and creative writing professor, she is the author of many collections of poetry and was one of three finalists for the 2016 Robert Cherry Award for Great Teaching at Baylor University and the winner of a 2016 Pushcart Prize 2016.
William Stamps Farish Entrepreneurial Research Professor
In addition to serving as associate dean for graduate programs at the McIntire School of Commerce, Maxham teaches global immersion courses and conducts research examining quantitative models that link customer analytics to financial performance. The William Stamps Farish Professorship, created in 1982, helps fund Maxham’s studies in entrepreneurship. An expert in marketing, his research has appeared in leading marketing journals and his work has been profiled in BusinessWeek, Forbes, the Washington Post, NBC, and other media outlets.
