UVA Parents Council

The UVA Parents Council is a community of dedicated families from across the country and around the globe, committed to strengthening the University through meaningful engagement and philanthropic support. As UVA’s largest parent organization, the Parents Council members work together to enhance the undergraduate student experience and advance the University’s mission to ensure every student can belong, thrive, and lead.

Parents Council Members are Asked to:

• Support UVA with a minimum annual gift of $2,500 or more to the Parents Fund
• Attend two council meetings on Grounds each year: one during Family Weekend and one in the spring, generally in April
• Host or attend regional events designed to engage other parents and families
• Serve as ambassadors, fostering relationships with fellow parents to broaden their knowledge of the University and encourage support
• Share valuable insight with University leaders on the undergraduate student experience
• Leverage corporate relationships to create career opportunities for UVA students
• Consider making a larger gift that reflects your philanthropic capacity and passion, amplifying your impact on University priorities

Parent Leadership Council members are Parents Council families who commit $10,000 or more annually to the Parents Fund. In addition to the above, this distinguished group of families are asked to participate in the following:

• Award signature Parents Program scholarships to two student recipients
• Review and distribute annual Parents Fund resources:
  • Select and allocate Parents Program grants annually to student organizations, clubs, and departments
  • Designate funding for large investments, supporting presidential and University priorities
