The University serves Virginia, the nation, and the world by preparing responsible citizen-leaders; advancing, preserving, and disseminating knowledge; and providing world-class patient care.
All gifts of any kind help secure the University’s place as a premier institution of learning and make it possible for our students, faculty, and researchers to shape a brighter.
You can give to all 12 schools across Grounds. The possibilities are endless for supporting our students, faculty, and programs. Together, we will find the way forward.
You can join the growing number of alumni and friends who invest now in the University’s future by including UVA as a beneficiary of their wills, charitable trusts, and retirement plans. Gifts like these can offer you and your family significant tax benefits as well as greater financial flexibility in meeting your personal and philanthropic goals.
Through Honor the Future, the Campaign for the University of Virginia, we are building on our strong foundations to support the president’s vision: to become the best public university by 2030 and one of the very best in the world.
We seek to ensure every student’s experience outside the classroom is as rewarding as their learning inside it.

During the Honor the Future campaign, Student Affairs achieved significant milestones. Key achievements include:
The University built a new cutting-edge Student Health and Wellness Center. The four-story, 156,000-square-foot, one-stop-shop healthcare facility located at the south end of Brandon Avenue provides high-quality, confidential services to support student wellness. These services include general medicine, gynecology, kinesiology, counseling and psychological services, student disability access services, and health promotion. In addition, it provides space for the UVA’s Health System satellite pharmacy and laboratory services. Located within the building is the new Fried Center for the Advancement of Potential, a new state-of-the-art gym that focuses on “functional exercise,” helping people with everyday activities through a series of compound movements.
In addition to Student, Health and Wellness, the University also launched the Cavalier Fund which ensures the best and most inclusive undergraduate residential experience. Eligible students can receive up to $1,000 per academic year for co-curricular activities that supplement the University’s academic program, such as travel to a lecture, expenses related to Madison House service opportunities, or membership in registered student organizations.
Expanding Experiences
“This Cavalier Fund grant impacts my educational experience by giving me more opportunities to show employers what I have learned.”
Leah Germain (Col ’25)
A grant from the Cavalier Fund helped Leah Germain to travel to Austin, Texas for networking and interviews—and land a consulting job in her ideal location.
“I was awarded Cavalier Fund support to attend an invite-only networking and hiring event with the consulting company AECOM (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Management) in Austin, Texas. I was able to network with the hiring and management staff of AECOM as well as conduct an interview with them the following day.”
“As a low-income UVA student, going to this event was very important to me. When I was invited, I originally was not going to attend because it would have caused me financial hardship to book the plane ticket and hotel accommodations. This Cavalier Fund grant impacted my educational experience here at UVA by giving me more opportunities to show employers what I have learned at this prestigious school.”
“And I got the job! Looks like I’m moving to Austin.”
Community Collaboration
“The opportunity to collaborate with such supportive staff and student leadership has been immensely rewarding.”
Anastasia Jones-Burdick (Batten ’25) +
While a student at the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, Anastasia Jones-Burdick served as both a Tadler Appalachian Investing Fellow and a Batten Family Bicentennial Fellow. As the graduate assistant for UVA’s Cavalier Food Pantry, she drew on her decade of nonprofit nutrition assistance experience to manage facility operations, lead data analysis, coordinate SNAP education, and foster cross-Grounds partnerships. Beyond the pantry, she engaged in strategic planning, developed fundraising initiatives, and mobilized student voices for state-level advocacy.
“I want to express how truly honored I’ve been to work with UVA Care and Support Services for the Cavalier Food Pantry. The opportunity to collaborate with such supportive staff and student leadership has been immensely rewarding. I am so proud to be a member of this team.”
After graduating, Jones-Burdick plans to pursue a degree in public interest law and continue championing health equity and economic opportunity to spur regional growth.
