The University serves Virginia, the nation, and the world by preparing responsible citizen-leaders; advancing, preserving, and disseminating knowledge; and providing world-class patient care.
All gifts of any kind help secure the University’s place as a premier institution of learning and make it possible for our students, faculty, and researchers to shape a brighter future.
You can give to all 12 schools across Grounds. The possibilities are endless for supporting our students, faculty, and programs. Together, we will find the way forward.
You can join the growing number of alumni and friends who invest now in the University’s future by including UVA as a beneficiary of their wills, charitable trusts, and retirement plans. Gifts like these can offer you and your family significant tax benefits as well as greater financial flexibility in meeting your personal and philanthropic goals.
The Honor the Future campaign, the largest in University history, concluded in 2025, thanks to thousands of loyal supporters. Its impact on students, faculty, facilities, and research reaches across Charlottesville, Wise County, and Northern Virginia as it continues to advance the school in its third century of service to the commonwealth, nation, and world.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the fourth-year experience for the Class of 2020 and Class of 2021 was unlike any other in the University’s 200+-year history. Rather than sharing their final months celebrating milestones with peers and enjoying the conclusion of their storied academic journeys, the Class of 2020’s experience culminated with classes delivered via Zoom and a virtual commencement ceremony. Similarly, the Class of 2021 faced significant restrictions around masking and on gatherings of more than six people, and dealt with other limitations that significantly shaped their experience when they returned to Grounds in the fall of 2020.
University Advancement’s Donor Relations team sought to create a unique gift to acknowledge and honor the unusual experiences and challenges of the Classes of 2020 and 2021 that also celebrates some of the beautiful and often less-historic moments that were captured during the students’ time on Grounds. The result, a beautifully crafted photo book documenting four historic years, was delivered as an unexpected keepsake to encourage recent graduates to remember the University they love. This is a particularly meaningful keepsake as the University’s yearbook, Corks & Curls, was discontinued in 2008 due to financial limitations. This photobook serves as a unique and limited-edition book of record for the University and student experience.
