The UVA Parents Fund enhances the student experience through annual gifts from parents of current and former students. Directed by the UVA Parents Committee, the Parents Fund supports student clubs and cultural events, academic enhancement programs and career services, health and wellness initiatives, and class dinners and traditions that enrich student life across Grounds.
In 2017–18, we raised $1.25 million, which will be allocated to student life, safety, and health initiatives during the 2018–19 academic year.
Gifts to the Parents Fund support three main areas, all directly connected to undergraduate life:
- Parents Fund Grants and Special Initiatives (50%)
Any University student, organization, or department that provides services, programs, or projects to UVA undergraduate students may apply for Parents Fund grants and support for special initiatives.
- President’s Office (25%)
The President’s Office allocated its Parents Fund resources to the Alumni and Parent Engagement Office to support programming that enriches the student experience through parent engagement.
- Student Affairs Office (25%)
The Parents Fund provides essential support to this office, which shares a mission similar to that of the Parents Fund.
