For Our Students

Today's students are tomorrow's leaders. With your support, our promising students gain a greater understanding of the world.

OVERVIEW

Help dreams come to life.

Open doors to higher education for deserving students, many of whom hope to become first-generation college graduates someday. Gifts for scholarships and student experience provide financial security, educational enrichment, and a solid foundation from which students can achieve their highest goals.

President James E. Ryan announced an additional investment of $30 million in strategic matching funds to support need-based student scholarships at UVA and UVA’s College at Wise. The funds will be used for two of the University’s highest priorities—recruiting top prospective students and increasing access and affordability for undergraduate students.

This new investment provides additional funds that will match gifts supporting three scholarship programs—Bicentennial Scholarships, Blue Ridge Scholars, and University Achievement Awards

PRIORITIES

  • Scholarships
Paying for college can be daunting. UVA will overcome this challenge for students who qualify for admission but can't afford to attend. Not only does the University admit students based on their achievements and promise—not their ability to pay—we're committed to meeting 100 percent of a student’s demonstrated financial need. This commitment requires need-based scholarships and funding for AccessUVA.
  • Student Experience
It's this place, this community. The UVA student experience is unlike any other. Help us continue providing students with the most rewarding and powerful educational experiences anywhere. The University engages students in life-changing ways, affording each opportunities for exceptional learning experiences.
  • Health & Wellness
At UVA, we promote a healthy educational experience that helps students thrive, allowing them to succeed academically and throughout their lives. The new Student Health & Wellness Center, to be completed in 2021, will expand services to students to provide a more comprehensive approach to total wellness.
