Kate Read Ezell

Through her Nashville-based consulting firm, Ezell Consulting, Kate connects the business community with leaders in education policy, advocacy, and practice to increase support for quality education for all students in Tennessee. Ezell Consulting’s recent clients include TnEdPartners, Teach For America, the Tennessee Charter School Center, Communities in Schools, YWCA MEND, and YouScience. 

Kate serves/has served on the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce Report Card Committee, Education Advisory Committee and Moving Forward Advisory Forum. She’s an executive committee member of the Nashville Public Library Foundation Board and chairman of UVa’s Jefferson Scholars Foundation Middle Tennessee Committee. Past leadership experience includes serving on the Fisk University Board of Trust, the Women’s Fund Board (Middle Tennessee Community Foundation), the MNPS Charter Review Committee, and the UVa Board of Managers and the Jefferson Scholars National Selection Committee. 

Kate graduated from the College (1975) and from UVa’s Darden School (1981). She and her husband, Steven (College 1974, have three grown children: Lauren, Read (College 2010), and Eleanor.
