Jeffrey D. Nuechterlein is Managing Partner of Nue Capital LLC, an investment management company he founded in 2000 to manage public and private equity investments. Located in Alexandria, Virginia, Nue Capital has a portfolio of venture capital investments (primarily in early stage technology companies), a portfolio of public equities across sectors, and numerous private equity fund investments. In addition, since 2013, Jeff has been Chair of the Board of Directors of Cartica Management, a privately-held, long-only equity manager with $3.5 billion in assets under management that is focused on investments in public companies in emerging markets. Since 2010, he also has served on the board of Chesapeake Lodging Trust, an NYSE-listed company, and, since 2017, he has served as a member of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board’s (PCAOB) Standing Advisory Group. Prior to founding Nue Capital in 2000, Jeff was Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer for pension fund investments at privately-held National Gypsum Company, Senior Counsel to the U.S. Trade Representative, Counsel to the U.S. Senate’s Judiciary Subcommittee on Technology, and outside legal counsel to several US semiconductor companies. Jeff also served as chair of the board of directors and chair of the audit committee of Barington/Hilco Acquisition Corp, a NASDAQ-listed company, from 2014-18, and he served on the board of The Jones Group, Inc., a NYSE-listed company, from 2011-14. Among his non-profit activities, Jeff serves as a Trustee of Americans for Oxford, Inc., as a Trustee (and Past President) of The College Foundation at the University of Virginia, as an Emeritus Trustee (and current member of the Investment Committee) of The Potomac School, as a Trustee of the Classical American Homes Preservation Trust in New York, and as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Jeff received his BA and JD from the University of Virginia and his MA and D. Phil from Oxford University.
