All in the Family
A McIntire education has prepared three generations of the Schade family for success in their chosen careers.
To ensure continued excellence at the school, Curt Schade (McIntire ’80) and his wife, Angel, established the Robert H. Schade Bicentennial Professorship Fund in February 2018. Named in memory of Curt’s father, a 1947 McIntire graduate and WWII veteran, the $1 million gift supports emerging scholars. With a match from the University’s Bicentennial Professor’s Fund, the gift totals $1.5 million.
“The outstanding quality of the professors and leadership is what makes McIntire great, and we want to support that in any way that we can,” said Schade, father of Christopher (McIntire ’15), Emily (McIntire ’16), and Harlan (McIntire ’20). “As the school evolves and grows, we want to make sure that it has the proper funding to attract and develop the best faculty.”
The McIntire School of Commerce and Darden School of Business have partnered to offer a new Master of Science in business analytics in the Washington, D.C., area.
